25 June 1999: The latest list of the world's 500 fastest computers, released last week at the Supercomputing '99 conference in Mannheim, Germany, is headed by SNL's teraflops computer. A Pittsburgh Post-Gazette column of briefs noted the success: "The top spot is held by a one-of-a-kind machine called ASCI Red at Sandia ... that links 9,472 processors and can perform 2.1 trillion calculations a second. Behind it is the ASCI Blue at [LANL]. ... Its 6,144 processors can perform 1.6 trillion calculations a second."

interested in participating, please forward me their email addresses.  Our
web designer is busy working on the web page.  We are busy modifying the
Sandia Access Database to fit our program and trying to obtain a server.
Registration will be done through the web via ASP, IIS direct to the
database.
